Royce Hall

This UCLA Bjork Learning and Forgetting Lab website provides access to references, articles, photographs, media links, and other information that reflects the Laboratory’s contribution to understanding how people learn, versus how they think they learn—with a focus on enhancing educational practices and self-regulated learning. A major goal of the Laboratory has been to bridge the gap between cognitive theory and real-world educational applications.

Across the decades since Elizabeth and Robert Bjork arrived at UCLA in 1974, the lab has had a history of mentorship, having fostered the careers of 120 students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting researchers, many of whom have gone on to highly productive careers, world-wide.
